The 30-year-old’s miscontrol cost the Partenopei an early goal on Saturday and he injured himself while running after Dejan Kulusevski
Kalidou Koulibaly has issued an apology for Napoli’s defeat, his injury and his involvement in Parma’s first goal during Saturday’s Serie A encounter.
Koulibaly was caught in possession by Dejan Kulusevski and injured himself while trying to stop the 19-year-old from opening the scoring in the fourth minute.
The Senegal international fell to the floor and limped off a minute later after feeling discomfort on his right thigh.
Arkadiusz Milik’s 64th-minute equaliser was not enough for the hosts as Gervinho’s stoppage-time strike condemned Gennaro Gattuso to his first defeat on his debut outing with the Partenopei.
“I’m sorry. For the goal conceded, for the defeat and for the injury,” Koulibaly tweeted.

After the game, which stretched Napoli’s winless run to eight Serie A games, the club confirmed the centre-back has suffered a hamstring injury and he is expected to undergo further examinations to determine the severity of the damage.
“For Kalidou Koulibaly, released due to injury, suspected thigh strain to the right femoral bicep,” the club announced.
